1. General Rules
All events are compulsory, and teams must do them in the given time with no external help.
All checkpoints are compulsory and must be checked on the team’s competition card.
All along the contest route there will be referees to make sure the contest is running according to the regulation.
Team’s presence for the technical meeting is a must, since that is the ONLY time that informations regarding the route will be offered.

2. The Team
Each team has 2 team players no matter their gender.
Team members

Team members can be men or women over 18 years of age.
Competitors below 65 years old will have their insurance covered by the organizers. For participants over this age limit registration is free, but they will compete at their own risk.
All participants should be in good physical shape, being able to cover mountain trails by trekking or biking and have knowledge of using maps and compasses.
If one of the requirements is not fulfilled they won’t be admitted in the contest.
Assistants

Assistants will not be part of the contest. They only provide logistics for their team. They can offer competitors help in the base camp only.

3. The competition

  • a raid is a competition with no external support involved
  • each team must carry its own food and liquid supply for the route
  • team members must always stay together for the time of the competition
  • if one of the team members can’t continue the race for any given reason, the team is disqualified – their abandon must be reported to the closest checkpoint
  • when recovering competitors, injured persons have priority;  organizers will only provide transport for the other member if there is a free place in the vehicle
  • during the technical meeting each team will be given a map of all routes for each phase of the contest, the competition card with the checkpoints mentioned and nominal badges. Team players must always have these with them – their badges will be checked, and their competition cards filled in an exact order when passing checkpoints on the route.
  • teams must follow the route by passing all compulsory checkpoints in their respective order
  • missing a checkpoint and not conforming to the compulsory route will bring punishments that will be announced during the technical meeting – there will be a possibility to get back by covering the route in reverse order
  • the time limit for covering all routes as well as all given times for each event must be respected, or the team will be out of the competition
  • while competing in the special ( technical) events time restrictions could be imposed for safety issues ( for example doing them during nighttime is dangerous)
  • waiting time due to teams super-positioning in special events will be subtracted from the total time that team will score.

4. Forbidden to use:

  • any other means of transportation than those team members own. They must be accepted by the regulation or those provided by organizers
  • GPS
  • alcohol, drugs, any kind of medications (medical problems will be solved before entering the competition – a qualified doctor will oversee the race, and his recommendations are compulsory and must be followed
    Possessing or using any of the above mentioned items will put the team out of the contest.

5. Equipment
All teams must wear and know how to use all equipment mentioned on the Compulsory EQUIPMENT LIST.
Equipment will be checked before the race starts and randomly in any checkpoint during the race. Not having one of the items mentioned on the compulsory equipment list will draw that team out of contest.

6.Registration
In order to register into the competition teams must follow the steps described in REGISTRATION page. Registration is considered valid after paying the registration fee in cash or through a bank transaction to our account mentioned on the Registration page. This fee is for one team and it’s the team member’s responsibility. The registration is valid if the payment is done before the 10th of september 2011.

In case a registered team wants to drop off it must let organizers know at least 10 days before the competition starts. They should make a written request and all of their tax will be refunded. If their decision not to be part of the competition takes place later than this term only 30 % of their money will be returned.

7. Safety and communication
Organizers will make sure that in the area where the contest is held there will be mountain intervention teams, jandarms, a doctor and they will be in contact with nearby hospitals. The right logistics for quick intervention will be there.
Warning!

All competitors must have all required equipment and must be capable of using it right.
During the technical meeting all teams will be informed of the risks and specific intervention techniques for the area. Having at least one functional mobile phone per team is a must! Each person that takes part in the competition and doesn’t have a valid insurance policy agrees on paying for any costs that might arise from rescuing them, transporting and/or hospitalizing them as a result of an accident that occurs during the race. Each registered participant will be the only one held responsible for his/her behavior and for his/her health condition and physical capacity of covering all distances and events of the contest.
The competition fee covers a medical insurance for the time of the contest.
Competitors, assistants and any other authorized persons taking part in this competition fully accept all risks involved as a result of entering this type of competition. As such they are part of this competition of their own free will and are responsible for themselves. They held the organizers free of any civil or penal responsibility in case of any accident to a person or piece of equipment that occurs during the competition. Organizers are not accountable for any loss or damage of private equipment.

8. Respect for nature
Respect the environment!  All garbage will only be deposited in places specially designed for that purpose. If such a spot can’t be found on the route competitors must carry and dispose of it at the next base camp. No open fire along the route is allowed.

9. Penalties and Complaints
All penalties will be transmitted during the technical meeting.
Penalties will consist of extra time added to the overall time that a team scores and a team reaching it’s time limit will be informed.
Any complaints should be transmitted in writing one hour (max.) after the time limit for all routes expires. Any complaint will be answered one hour (max) from registration.

10. Changes
The organizers have the right to make changes to these regulations at any time. However, any changes made will be transmitted at the technical meeting at the latest.
